Stayed at Hotel san Michele for a week, absolutely fantastic location beside the main square in the town, excellent breakfast every morning, housekeeping top class, all staff very nice & accommodating, perfect for a stay in the fantastic town of Cortona!

The location was great. We used the parking garage and that was so handy. The hotel is just beautiful and located just blocks from the main square with lots of restaurant options and shopping. The room was very nice and clean. Breakfast was wonderful with lots of yummy options. But the best thing was the staff. Everyone of them were just amazing. Front desk staff were so friendly and helpful, we were always helped with our bags, the breakfast staff were always waiting on us.

Good hotel, great staff, excellent location. They were able to do alot and make it into quite a nice place, given the age of the building and related challenges. Our room (on the top floor) had some low beams running thru it that, if not paying attention, one would smash their head on. We were able to avoid the hazard, and actually appreciated the authenticity. It gave the feeling of staying in and old belfry where one might find Quasimodo himself. View overlooking the old tile roofs and down to the valley floor was amazing.

This hotel is simply stunning. The view from the room was so gorgeous, overlooking the roof tops. The bathroom with the raised bath was such a treat. The staff were so helpful and the breakfast was delicious in the beautiful dining room. The position is right next to the piazza.

The reception staff were so friendly helpful and knowledgeable. They helped with information and storing my bag and showing me where to go. The breakfast staff warm and friendly and happy. The room was fabulously quirky in shape and nicely decorated in keeping with the history of this building. I wouldn’t hesitate booking again and again.

Beautiful building and furnishings.Centrally located just off the main square.Very comfortable room and the staff were very helpful.

The staff was EXCEPTIONAL !! From Alessandro ( GM evening ) Francesca ( front desk ) and Tahir - these 3 were a wonderful greeting to this hotel and town. We arrived late and they welcomed our frazzled selves into their hotel. Francesca made dinner reservations, Alessandro parked our car and Tahir took care of our luggage. These acts sound simple but to us that night - they went over and above helping us. This is a 4-star hotel because they have the best staff along with their beautiful hotel. Do not stay anywhere else -because you will not get this exceptional treatment. The kindness they showed us was so appreciated.

This was our second stay at Hotel San Michele. Both times, we were incredibly impressed and pleased by not only the beautiful historic property, but even more so by the amazingly wonderful staff. STAY HERE! You’ll be glad you did.

First and foremost the reception staff went above and beyond for us. We had a lot of things planned and required taxis to get there which they sorted out for us (it was not an easy task as we learned). They were friendly and nothing was too much. The hotel is beautiful, we were lucky to stay in a room at the top floor which had a skylight where you could see the most stunning views. The room had a rustic italian feel and made our experience of Cortona all the more perfect.

Have been to cortona many times but didn’t stay in hotel san Michelle We stayed in agritourismo , however the hotel was wonderful and worth a stay beautifully kept old building with spacious, comfortable , light filled room.
